On March 26, the forum “Strength in the Community: A Year of Defence Reforms” took place – a significant event that brought together key players from Ukraine’s defence sector and international partners for an open discussion on the challenges, achievements, and next steps in defence reform. This long-awaited and meaningful platform for honest dialogue became possible thanks to the Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine and the UK partners, in particular the Special Defence Advisor, within the SDA-EDGE project. The forum united those who are driving change from within the defence sector and those supporting Ukraine internationally – to jointly address the core issue: how to make our defence system stronger, more transparent, and more resilient to threats.
Lesia Ogryzko, Director of the Sahaidachnyi Security Center, joined the panel discussion “Just and Long Lasting Peace for Ukraine: New Security Architecture in Europe.” The discussion focused on the urgent need to build an effective security system for Ukraine and its partners.
Key topics of the event included:
-
Achievements in the digital transformation of Ukraine’s defence forces
-
Core aspects of the 2025 defence reforms and their impact on battlefield advantage
-
Shaping a new European security architecture to ensure a just and lasting peace
The forum highlighted the critical importance of international support and strategic planning in strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities.
