How Ukraine Can Maintain Resilience Was Discussed at the Event ‘Defense and Security in Times of Turbulence’

On March 13, the event “Defense and Security in Times of Turbulence” took place in a closed format. Lesia Ogryzko, Director of the Sahaidachnyi Security Center, presented the Center’s research titled “russia 2032 Scenarios,” outlining possible scenarios for russia’s development by 2032.

The event was organized by the Frontier Institute in partnership with the , with support from the International Renaissance Foundation, Transparency International Ukraine, and the Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine as part of a program supported by the UK government through the Special Advisor on Defense.

During the event, the Frontier Institute presented its research on national resilience and ecosystem interaction, while the Friedrich Ebert Foundation’s Ukraine office and the Sahaidachnyi Security Center shared the results of their studies on the development scenarios of Ukraine and russia, respectively.

In her speech, Lesia Ogryzko emphasized the need for further development of Russian studies both in Ukraine and abroad to better analyze and counter the russian threat. “Almost all possible scenarios for russia’s development pose a threat to Ukraine and Europe. Therefore, we must unite efforts to ultimately achieve the best possible outcome for all of us.”

The event “Defense and Security in Times of Turbulence” covered two global areas:

  • External threats and internal challenges, and ways to respond to them;

  • Preserving national resilience.

The participants presented their research findings, discussed new hypotheses and discoveries regarding military aggression against Ukraine, and the mechanisms for its resilience.
