Is the U.S. willing to sacrifice Ukraine for a new opening with the Kremlin? Commentary by Lesia Ogryzko for TVP World

Lesia Ogryzko, Director of the Sahaidachnyi Security Center, discussed the negotiations in Saudi Arabia in an interview with TVP World.

According to the expert, it is too early to speak about quick results in the negotiation process. “At this moment, we are only seeing the beginning of a complex path that will last for months, if not years, and talking about quick results is premature,” Lesia Ogryzko stated, emphasizing that the parties have diametrically opposed positions.

The expert also warned that the kremlin will deliberately drag out the negotiation process and use it as a tool to push its own terms: “It is important to understand that any statements from russia about being ready for negotiations cannot be trusted, given its strategic objectives and past experience during the Minsk negotiations.”

“The recent shelling and drone attacks in Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy, and Kyiv demonstrate that russia will not adhere to any commitments.”
