Lesia Ogryzko about Ukraine and the Massive Attack on BBC World News

On August 28, following massive attacks on Kyiv, Lesia Ogryzko, Director of the Sahaidachnyi Security Center, gave a live commentary on BBC World News.
In her remarks, Lesia Ogryzko reported on the consequences of the latest attack: fatalities, injuries, and the number of children affected.

“Russia continues to terrorize Ukrainians, attempting to put internal pressure on President Zelensky. The goal of these attacks is to force Ukraine into concessions at the negotiating table. Russia does not understand that such terror only strengthens Ukrainians’ determination to fight for every inch of their land, for freedom and sovereignty,” emphasized Lesia Ogryzko, Director of the Sahaidachnyi Security Center.

Key points of Lesia Ogryzko’s statement:

  • Russia systematically attacks civilian targets, causing numerous casualties.
  • Ukraine possesses an effective air defense system, but its capabilities are insufficient for full protection.
  • Western sanctions policy has loopholes that Russia skillfully exploits.
  • Kremlin terror has not broken Ukrainians’ will; on the contrary, it strengthens national resolve.
