Lesia Ogryzko: “Europeans still have many cards in their hands that they are not playing”

Lesia Ogryzko, Director of the Sahaidachnyi Security Center, shared her vision of Europe’s future security architecture in an interview with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

Her comments came against the backdrop of the “coalition of the willing” summit in Paris, where world leaders and Ukraine’s partners are discussing how to strengthen Kyiv’s defense support and what security guarantees could be offered after the war ends.

According to Ogryzko, the key task for allies is to establish effective coordination in the security sphere. This includes new defense packages, training missions for Ukrainian soldiers, and stronger sanctions pressure on Russia.

“Europeans still have many cards in their hands that they are not playing. These include the banking system, with less than one-third under sanctions; secondary sanctions, where no progress has been made; the shadow fleet; the IT sector; and advanced artificial intelligence technologies, which enable Russia to acquire cutting-edge tools for warfare,” emphasized the Director of the Sahaidachnyi Security Center.
